Enrolling in Butler County Schools
We welcome you to the Butler County School System. The following information should help you in the process of enrolling your child. This page also contains links to on-line registration forms. These new forms will allow you to get a head-start on the registration process. You will need to print the completed forms and bring them to registration. If you have additional questions about the enrollment process, you may contact the appropriate school office for help.

Residency/School Zone
To see a map showing the School Zones, please click here. This map is provided for reference only. If you live very near a boundary line, we strongly encourage you to contact the Board of Education for verification with the official map on file at the Central Office.
The Board of Education has established school attendance zones and students must attend school in the zone in which they reside with a parent or legal guardian. To prove residency in Butler County and in the correct school zone, any two of the following documents must be produced:
- Property Tax Records, indicating a Homestead Exemption
- Mortgage Document or Property Deed
- Apartment or Home Lease/Rental Agreement
- Utility Bill(s) (Any two may be accepted)
- Driver’s License
- Voter Registration Card
Documents with a Post Office address only will not satisfy this requirement.
Age Requirements
The Parent or Legal Guardian must present to school officials an official birth certificate showing that the child is six years old on or before September 1 of the year of the child's admission to first grade. Students entering kindergarten must have an official birth certificate showing that the child is five years old on or before September 1 of the year of the child's admission to kindergarten.
Health Certificates
The Parent or Legal Guardian must present to school officials a state approved immunization certificate showing that the child has received immunization for the following communicable diseases: polio, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, measles, rubella, and mumps; or present to school officials a written objection from the parent(s) or guardian(s) to immunization against non epidemic diseases based on religious grounds; or a statement from a physician stating that the immunization or tests would be detrimental to the health of the child.
